The organisers of two upcoming fundraisers to support youth in sport are appealing to the Nambucca Valley community to get behind the events.
On Sunday, there’s an ambrose golf and social bowls carnival at the Macksville Country Club.
The memorial charity day honours the late Lou Ballangary.
And this Friday, local school children will play touch football in the Michael “Cactus” Moran Cup at the Willis Street Oval.
“It’s to provide sporting pathways for kids that show a bit of potential and a willingness to go further with their career,” said organiser Rhett Smythe.
League legends, Graham Eadie, Steve Martin and Phil Sigsworth will also conduct a clinic for the footballers.
