Port Stephens councillors have given the green light to a new racetrack north of Raymond Terrace.
The $4-million Ringwood Raceway is the brainchild of Nathan Tinkler’s former business partner Mathew Higgins.
A similar proposal was denied in court 10 years ago on environmental grounds.
Residents were concerned about the site’s operating hours and noise.
