SENTENCING DATE SET FOR TRUCK DRIVER OVER FATAL CRASH

A truck driver who pleaded guilty to causing a crash that killed a schoolboy in the Hunter Valley could be sentenced in November.
Almost a year on from the accident, 35-year-old Daniel Ronald Hennessy was today committed for sentencing in Newcastle’s District Court for dangerous driving occasioning death.
On September 10 last year, the driver of the prime-mover failed to stop at an intersection – slamming into a school bus.
Nine-year-old Harry Dunn was thrown from the bus and killed.
Hennessy was excused from attending today… the case was adjourned until the 8th of November.
