While he may have been one of the last to join the race, independent candidate Rob Taber has already garnered some weighty support in his bid for the federal seat of New England.
The Armidale businessman was today backed by the seat’s former holder, Tony Windsor.
Mr Windsor took to Twitter to share his feelings on Mr Taber’s candidacy, saying he was delighted to support the independent nominee.
He described Mr Taber as a good man, who genuinely cares about the area and local issues.
