The Tamworth Rural Fire Service are using hazard reduction burns in the Moonbi Ranges, following a spate of fires that are believed to have been deliberately lit.
Firefighters conducted the safety measure yesterday, with the area proving to be a trouble spot during the last three months.
Yesterday afternoon fire burnt five kilometres north of Bendemeer, which crews believed are linked to the prior alleged instances of arson.
