There was a federal cash splash on the north coast today, with Page MP Janelle Saffin and Agriculture Minister Joel Fitzgibbon releasing $3.5-million to help upgrade Casino’s livestock exchange.
“It’s upgrading the flooring the lighting roofing and also having a floor that’s far more suitable when the stock are being waiting there and being held in there.”
Mr Fitzgibbon also announced a new federal government scheme which will allow struggling farmers to apply for low interest loans from the Commonwealth.
“This is for viable farm businesses who are just facing a difficult time and need a little leg up for that 5 year period.”
