TWEED RIVER BANK SAFER

It’s hoped work on the banks of the river along the Tweed Valley Way at Murwillumbah will prevent further erosion.
Erosion from the December and January storms had threatened to undermine the roadway.
“We can rest easy that in the next flood event we won’t have a repeat of that erosion”
Council is still working on a permanent design solution to a section of the Murwillumbah Levee, which was also damaged.
Temporary repairs can only withstand flood events in the short term.
