Labor backbencher Kevin Rudd met up with long time ally Janelle Saffin today, to check out Casino Beef Week.
His fleeting visit included a tour of the Casino Livestock Exchange.
Ms Saffin is currently campaigning to secure federal funds for an upgrade of the sale yards.
Council has applied to the Gillard government for $5-million through the Regional Development Australia Fund to pay for 50 percent of the total works.
