Merewether’s Jake Sylvester is the Hunter’s lone representative, in the pro junior at Surfest, as he advanced to the quarter finals.
In the round of 32, Sylvester posted an 8 and a 9.9 to easily win his heat.
This afternoon was a little tougher, but he did enough to earn a shot at a second title.
In the women’s, junior world champion Nikki Van Dijk looks unbeatable.
She cruised through the round of 32, before backing up with a 15.2 to win in the round of 16.
Pro junior winners will be crowned tomorrow.
