Tenterfield council is now eligible to apply for government assistance to help clean up the mess left behind by ex-tropical cyclone Oswald.
The region’s natural disaster declaration means council can apply for state and federal grants to help cover the cost of repairing damaged roads and infrastructure.
While access to most properties has been restored, some areas remain cut off and others are only accessible by four wheel drive.
