Lake Macquarie lifeguards among the first in the country to try ‘smart’ tourniquets

Lake Macquarie lifeguards have a new tool to help keep beachgoers safe this summer.

It’s one of the only councils in the country equipped with so-called “E-tourniquets”, tipped to save lives – in the case of a shark attack, or boating accident.
