
The cost of doing business is leaving many North West traders struggling under the weight of rising energy, insurance, and compliance fees.
Business New South Wales is demanding urgent intervention from both state and federal governments before more local storefronts are forced to close.
Minister for Small Business Janelle Saffin tonight telling NBN News the state government, ”has pursued several avenues… including our landmark workers compensation reforms… without them, businesses would have faced premium rises of 36 per cent over the next three years.”
Adding, ”business insolvencies are about 6 per cent lower than they were this time last year, according to the NSW Small Business Commission.”
While the federal government says it has ”progressed initiatives” to benefit small businesses including, ”A Board of Taxation review into reducing red tape in the tax system, announced by the Treasurer on 24 September 2025.”
