With Lismore’s Telstra centre shutting down next week a “jobs Market” has been set up, to help out the 116 people it’ll leave unemployed.
Mayor Jenny Dowell says there’ll be a smorgasbord of jobs to choose from.
“We’ve got about 200 real jobs going to be on the table, so the first pick, if you like, will be for the telstra workers, they’ll be going in their alone, then from about 11.30 anyone from our local area can go in.”
The Telstra-funded event will be held this Friday, at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre.
