Police are appealing for information after an act of animal cruelty in Inverell.
It’s alleged a man returned to a Henderson Street property after walking his own dogs, to find an unknown dog in the backyard.
Police have been told he allegedly used a shovel and a hammer to strike the dog, which died at the scene.
The owner of the premises is assisting police with their inquiries.
