Rewind Series 5 Episode 5 – Local lives connected to the land

Farmers in our region live a life defined by a deep connection to the natural environment, the rhythms of the seasons, and a strong sense of community..

NBN News was there to tell the stories…the rewards and the challenges faced by locals working the land

1966 saw flocks of sheep on the move in Dungog.. dry conditions meant the need to re-locate to greener pastures

1967 saw the harvesting of tomatoes in the upper hunter.. sun ripened roma’s, full of flavour..

The Land of Milk and Honey was a theme at the 1968 Royal Easter Show.. New England, Mid North Coast and Hunter farmers produced this prize winning display

And our regional shows brought people together, to recognise and celebrate the success of local agriculture
