The Tamworth Magpies have shown they’re ready for the Central North Rugby season,downing a short-handed Quirindi Lions in a trial match yesterday.
For the new coach of the Lions, Jed Mackle, it was his first chance to see the boys in action.
He only arrived from New Zealand at the end of last week.
“Hopefully we both got something out of it, I certainly got a number of things out of it, at least I’ve seen the boys run and what we have to work on and there’s a lot of work to do.”
