WORKS BEGIN ON TAMWORTH’S INTERMODEL FREIGHT TERMINAL

Construction has begun on Tamworth’s Intermodal Freight Terminal.
The first phase of the project will see the upgrade of a six-kilometre stretch of railway between West Tamworth and Westdale.
Hundreds of local jobs stand to be created by the $7.4 million dollar project.
“There is upwards of 200 jobs once the trains come in and load the containers, unload the containers, the dispatch points, when trucks come in and go it will create a central hub for the New England, North West so the opportunities for job creation are boundless.”
The project is set to be complete by the end of next year.
