Police are reminding Hunter drivers this Christmas and New Year to stick to the speed limit.
Double demerits came into force at midnight, and will be in place until January 4.
“Take your time, it doesn’t take that much longer just to stick to the speed limit, you’ll get there safely and your loved ones will be waiting when you get there.”
Police say yesterday alone, almost 800 motorists were detected speeding statewide.
