DRIVER HITS HORSE AND DROPS OFF BRIDGE

A terrifying ordeal for a 62-year-old Hastings man early this morning, when his car rolled off Ganonns Creek Bridge.

The man was travelling along the Oxley Highway at Hartys Plains when he hit a horse, causing his vehicle to fly off the bridge and down 12 metres.

The driver was able to remove himself from the vehicle before emergency services arrived.

He remains in a stable condition at Port Macquarie Hospital, while the horse died at the scene.
