There’s been a lucky escape for students at a school in the state’s north after a car crashed through the playground and struck a fence, before bursting into flames.
The elderly driver of the car was rushed to the nearby Kyogle Memorial Hospital following the crash, which happed just before 1 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon.
He’s reported to be in a serious condition.
Initial investigations suggest the driver may have had a medical episode.
No students were injured.
