Newcastle cricket will tomorrow launch its first ever women’s league.
After initially planning for just eight teams, they were inundated with entries – eventually capping the modified-rules social competition at 20.
They’ll play on Sunday afternoons, with a softer ball.
Among them, The Cougars.
Some of the other early front-runners – and these are real names – The Fine Legs, and the Missing Middle Stumps.
