An 18-year-old man has been charged with numerous firearm offences and assaulting police in Moree early this morning.
Police were called to Anne Street, Moree around 2:45am following reports of a man with a firearm before a pursuit ensued.
They will allege during the arrest that the man bit an officer on the arm.
During a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
He was refused bail to appear before Moree Local Court later today.
