BELLINGEN COUNCIL COULD RECONSIDER QUARRY

The Bellingen Shire Council could review its recent decision to reject an application for the expansion of a Dorrigo quarry.
Councillors voted four votes to three against the application but now Mayor Mark Troy is expected to move a recision motion at a council meeting next month.
EMS Quarries wants to extract more gravel for the Pacific Highway upgrade and use more trucks to transport it down Waterfall Way.
The development application seeks to increase the number of gravel truck trips from 20 to 40 a day, as well as their capacity.
Residents opposed to the plan are expected to be out in force at the October meeting.
