$40,000 worth of fireworks will light up Nelson Bay tomorrow night at 9pm and midnight, to usher in the new year.
A popular vantage point will be the new wharf at Shoal Bay.
“Vantage points of course are at the Marina, right in the centre of the sprays of the fireworks – anywhere from fly-point to the east to the break wall at the fisherman’s club to the west would be a great spot to go.”
The event, organised by D’albora Marinas, is expected to attract thousands of spectators.
All motels in Nelson Bay are at capacity, and the marina is also full.
