What a disgraceful act! You should hang your heads in shame. Clearly Newcastle Council whether they be Councillors or employees have very little to no understanding of the significance afforded such events. Or worse still the history behind the sacrifices of these men and woman. I wounder if Newcastle Council is going to start charging people to enter Sandgate Cemetery because charging these returned veterans amounts to the same.
