Ocean Shores residents in low-lying areas were forced to flee their homes after an evacuation order was issued shortly after 2am.
Almost half-a-metre of rainfall was recorded in the 24 hours to midday over the Brunswick Valley.
The river reached major flood level at Billinudgel this morning, peaking at 4.5 metres.
