FAMILY REMEMBERS BATTLE

71 years ago today, two Newcastle pilots thwarted a Japanese attack and ensured Australia would remain as we know it today.

But Colin Marsden and Kenneth John Arnott would never return after the Battle of the Coral Sea.

  2. I wonder if a commemorative service for the 70th Anniversary of the sinking of Hospital Ship Centaur which resulted in the loss of 268 nurses, Field Ambulance men and crew, including men and women from the Hunter Valley will be held in Newcastle on Tuesday 14th May?
    I believe that it is important to remember all those who paid the supreme sacrifice during the Second World War of 1939-1945, including those who were victims of indiscriminate submarine attacks which resulted in great losses of life.
