EARLY DAYS WITH FEASIBILITY STUDY UNDERWAY FOR BATHERS WAY EXTENSION TO FERNLEIGH TRACK

A feasibility study is underway on extending Newcastle’s Bathers Way to the Fernleigh Track, including re-opening old mining rail tunnels at Merewether.

The concept was raised earlier this year, and while it’s still in its infancy, Newcastle Council has hired an engineering firm to investigate.
