HEARING DATE SET FOR ICE TEACHER

It’s emerged at least four Central Coast students are preparing to sue the education department after their hands were burnt while holding dry ice in a science class earlier this year.

49-year-old casual teacher Damien Hilton is facing eight assault charges, accused of daring 10 students at Terrigal High School to hold the dry ice for as long as they could.

Several were treated for serious burns.

Hilton has pleaded not guilty, and didn’t appear in Toronto Local Court today, when a hearing date was set for over three days in January.
