WOMAN TASERED AFTER ALLEGEDLY LIGHTING FIRE AT TAREE

A woman in her 20s had to be tasered by police on Friday, after she was seen to be lighting a fire in a Taree reserve.
Police will allege the woman had threatened members of the public who attempted to intervene, when officers arrived it’s further alleged she ran at them with a knife.
The 28-year-old is expected to face Port Macquarie Local Court via video link later today, after she was arrested near Telopea Drive at Taree at around 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
She was charged with a string of offences including intimidation and breach of bail.
There was no damage to property caused by the fire.
