The ambassador to New Zealand’s country music capital has been experiencing Aussie life during the Tamworth festival.
Part of a sister city program, Tyler Dowling has been accompanied by this year’s Country Music Queen contestants.
The winner will then cross the ditch for Gore’s festival later this year.
“This one’s a lot hotter, it’s a bit of a struggle when there’s permeating heat, but I’m slowly acclimatising. It’s also a lot bigger, so it’s probably 10-12 times larger than Gore’s festival.”
Tyler says he’s sure to be back for future festivals.
“Heard the horses for the first time, which I hear is a bit of an Australian iconic anthem, yeah all sorts – held a snake, saw a kangaroo it’s been pretty intense.”
