A 55-year-old Kendall man was arrested this afternoon after he allegedly attempted to rob a bank in Laurieton.
At about 12:30 the man, who was allegedly armed with a syringe, walked into the St George branch on Bold Street demanding money.
After staff refused, he fled on foot without any cash, and was arrested a short time later.
Police from the Hastings and Camden Haven, including the Dog Squad, attended.
