BUS VICTIM RECOVERS IN HOSPITAL

A woman who was run over and trapped beneath a bus at Port Stephens is recovering in hospital.
The 54-year-old was struck as she was crossing Gan Gan Road at Anna Bay, on Tuesday.

She was trapped for almost an hour before being flown to John Hunter Hospital, where she’s listed in a serious but stable condition.

The bus driver returned a negative roadside blood-alcohol test.

Police are asking for witnesses to the accident to contact them.
