FITZSIMMONS FOURTH IN K4

After winning gold in the K2 at the World Under-23 Championships in Portugal,

Riley Fitzsimmons has gone agonisingly close to a medal in the K4-1000.

Spain led from start to finish, with the Australians in a battle with Hungary and the Czech Republic.

And while the Aussies made a late surge, they missed the bronze by point eight of a second.

Fitzsimmons – who turned 19 today, will now compete in the K4 in next month’s senior World Championships in Milan.
