The countdown to 20-17 is officially on in Maitland, with council and its major sponsor gearing up for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
10,000 people are expected to line the banks of the Hunter River for a night of family-friendly entertainment and activities.
“People can expect to see plenty of free kids activities from face painting to free amusement rides. We’ll have craft activity along the river bank – that’ll be topped off by the 9pm fireworks,” said Kara Stonestreet from Maitland City Council.
The event will get underway at 5pm.
