Local families today ignored closing time at Beresfield Pool, in protest of Newcastle Council cuts to opening hours.
Wallsend MP Sonia Hornery joined the demonstration and is calling on Council to reverse the cuts.
“There are 150 families here today we are going to ask them at the hottest time of the day to depart the pool for what, for a little bit of cost, for the cost of one pool supervisor for two hours.” said Ms Hornery.
