Greater Taree City Councillor’s will have their pay frozen at the current rate following a notice of motion put forward at last night’s council meeting.
It will remain in place over the next six years – the same time frame a proposed special rate variation will be in operation, if approved by the independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal.
The call was led by Councillor’s Alan Tickle and Robyn Jenkins and was passed with a 5 to 3 majority.
