BYRON COUNCIL LAUNCHES WEBSITE TO HELP IN EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS

A state-of-the-art emergency dashboard will now help keep Byron Shire residents informed during extreme weather events.
The website, which includes predictive flood modelling, combines SES, Rural Fire Service and Bureau of Meteorology resources.
“We can work out our priorities for houses that need to be warned or evacuated in a timely manner,” Tweed-Byron SES Commander, Peter Mair, said.
“I think the rest of the state is going to be looking to Byron Council at this technology and be replicating it across the state,” Member of the Legislative Council, Ben Franklin, added.
