A surfing competition in Evans Head has raised $56,500 for breast cancer over the weekend.
54 surfers took to the ocean in the “Breast Surf Comp Ever”, including world champions Rachel Tilly and Pauline Menczer.
The event was organised by Evans Head local Emma Perrier, in memory of her Aunt who lost her battle to breast cancer two years ago.
$34,000 will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and the other $22,000 to local breast care nurses in Lismore.
