FURTHER SAND SCRAPING FOR OLD BAR BEACH

Further sand scraping will be completed at Old Bar Beach, after Mid Coast Council received state funding.

Part of council’s coastal management program, the work will help prevent erosion in the area worsening.

The $60,000 in funding is hoped to ensure the amenity of the beach and the safety of nearby buildings.

The spot is known to suffer major damage during severe weather events, with the Old Bar Sand Replenishment Group fighting to save the stretch.
