EROSION UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT IN COMMUNITY MEETING

Around 140 people attended a community meeting in Old Bar on Sunday afternoon, to discuss erosion protection strategies.
Griffith University researcher and coastal engineer Angus Jackson outlined a new plan to protect the erosion hotspot.
He said an offshore reef, artificial headlands and sand replenishment could be a solution to the problem.
Mr Jackson also met with Greater Taree City Council on Monday morning to discuss the plan.
