There’s been an unexpected clean-up mission along Merewether Beach this morning, as hundreds of containers washed ashore.
It’s believed the face cream containers could be from the YM Efficiency, which lost 83 cargo containers earlier this year just off the Hunter’s coastline.
All the debris was removed early this morning, but more could surface during the day due to the currents and tides.
Roads and Maritime have been contacted for comment.
