LAKE MACQUARIE COUNCIL ON THE HUNT FOR FOODIE OPERATORS

Speers Point’s state of the art, all-abilities park will soon be accompanied by a leading Multi-Arts Pavilion.
To complete the triad, Lake Macquarie Council is envisaging a creative food and beverage business to complement the growing arts and recreational facilities.
The Pavilion is expected to open in July, with council now seeking expressions of interest to run a cafe or restaurant in the space.
Arts Manager, Jaqui Hemsley is excited to find the right business owners to collaborate with.
“Opening out onto Speers Point Park with unprecedented lake views, the fully-licensed cafe or restaurant will quickly become a popular meeting point for locals and visitors to the park, especially in the warmer months,” Ms Hemsley says.
She believes the eatery will be an integral part of the visitor experience.
“MAP is expected to attract an additional 45,000 visitors a year, in addition to the 250,000 visitors who attend Speers Point Park each year.”
Information can be found on council’s website and submissions close on the 1st of March.
