All beaches on the far north coast have reopened, three days after local surfer Craig Ison was mauled by a shark at Evans Head. Beaches in Ballina Shire and Lennox Head remained closed yesterday, with fears large numbers of baitfish may attract sharks to the area. Aerial patrols of the beaches this morning found no sign of shark activity.
