Book lovers beware, libraries across the region will be inundated with children over the next few weeks.
It follows the official launch of the Summer Reading Club Program, which is designed to foster a love of books during the school holidays.
“Research has shown that over that six week break children who have built up their reading skills during the school term can actually loose some of those skills throughout the summer holidays,” Librarian Katey Allwell said.
Children will earn rewards for every book they read over the summer.
