HUNTER WOMAN TO FRONT COURT OVER ALLEGED BUSHFIRE ASSISTANCE FRAUD

A Lake Macquarie woman will front court next month, charged with fraudulently obtaining a bushfire assistance grant.
Officers from several police districts within Northern New South Wales established Strike Force Roche to investigate alleged cases of fraud following last summer’s bushfires.
This morning, detectives stormed a home at Killingworth and arrested a 28-year-old woman.
Officers will allege she fraudulently received a $10,000 grant through a bushfire small business support scheme.
The woman was granted conditional bail and will reappear at Toronto Local Court on December 1st.
Lake Macquarie detectives have charged five people under Strike Force Roche, their investigations are ongoing.
