The musical trio called Uncle Jed is now described as Sydney based but the big winners of last night’s Australia’s Got Talent are originally from the Coffs Coast.
Singer Laura Stitt and her cousins, Danny and Shannon won $250,000 for their efforts last night on the popular television show.
The trio – who played recently at the Bellingen Jazz Festival – were the short priced favourites to win the public vote going into the live decider.
It’s thought the unsigned act could become the subject of a record company bidding war.
The band says it will use the money to buy a tour bus and hopefully, take their music overseas.
