MAN CRASHES INTO RAYMOND TERRACE HOME

An unlicenced driver has been charged with a string of offences, after a car crashed into a home at Raymond Terrace last night.
Police say they were in the area just before 9.30, when they noticed a silver Commodore travelling along Links Road.
Soon after, the vehicle was found in Scott Close, having crashed into a fence, and the neighbouring home’s front verandah.
“I looked out the window and the car came flying down, hit the gutter right there where the marks are, just ploughed straight in to there. I told my husband, call the ambulance and police, we all came running down.” – Storme Irwin, witness.
The damage bill to the home is estimated at more than $40,000.
A 23-year-old man will face Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
