An action group tasked with combating the drug ‘Ice’ in Tamworth is a step closer to being unveiled,
following a community forum a fortnight ago.
This week, Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson will invite a representative from each organisation that attended the forum, to sit on the taskforce.
“I want people on the taskforce who are going to be doers. Who want action, who will put their hands up and say lets make this happen,” he said.
Mr Anderson is also in the process of authorising an audit on all services offered to the new body.
“In addition to that we’ll be looking at education. I want someone in the education department because I think that it’s really important that that person in that education sector provides us with direction into how we get to and get the message to young people,” he said.
