Fire and Rescue fire fighters have received a technologically advanced upgrade to their uniforms.
The heavy duty helmets were shown off by the Tamworth crew this morning, each costing $1,100.
“There’s an inbuilt mic so the fire fighters can use it when communicating with each other on hand held radios and there’s a lighting unit as well.”
They’ve been handed out to each of the state’s 7,000 employees, in four colours, differentiating between ranks within the organisation.
